ServiceTitan goes public this week. Keep in mind that the vertical software company is doing so under duress. To make its investors whole in the event of a public offering at a price lower than its preceding private worth, ServiceTitan was bound in a ratchet structure while raising its Series H. We’ll also see memestock GameStop report earnings, and it looks like the irrationality will continue if subreddit activity is a useful bellwether.

Finally, I’m curious about Broadcom’s upcoming earnings performance. The company, which acquired VMWare, has hiked costs with reported wanton abandon. Do investors care? We’ll find out.

What do I think? As part of my day job, I negotiate with a lot of software vendors. Price hikes are part and parcel. No grudges over here. But if a vendor came to me with a 1,000% price hike, I’d find a replacement out of sheer spite — even if the migration promised to be awful. I imagine there are a lot of CTOs and CFOs feeling that way about Broadcom right now. — Holden
